Deer Mountain Inn is a hospitality-focused, upscale casual destination hotel and restaurant in the Catskills. Our food program–led by Corwin Kave, James Beard Nominated Best Chef in NY– features locally grown and foraged ingredients executed with precision and passion. Our seasonal cocktail program and wine list (which boasts nearly 700 fantastic selections from well-respected and up-and-coming producers and regions also add incredible value to the dining experience at DMI.
The Role
We are looking for knowledgeable, hospitality-driven professionals to join our service team. Deer Mountain Inn Servers play an integral role in ensuring our guests have an outstanding dining experience; we aim to exceed expectations in a warm and comfortable environment for all our guests. Our servers excel at engaging guests with both expertise in our seasonal harvest-based food programming, and our unique and exciting wine and cocktail offerings.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a high level of hospitality and professionalism with all guests and team members
Develop a comprehensive knowledge of all food, beverage, and dietary restrictions to answer guest questions and guide their culinary experience
Maintain familiarity of important wine regions and classic wine pairings
Ensure all steps of service are completed
Offer recommendations, take orders, and develop relationships with guests to deliver personal and notable experiences
Ensure all orders in and out of the kitchen are accurate, on time, and meet guests’ expectations
Execute opening and closing procedures associated with your assigned role
Requirements
2+ years of server experience in a Fine Dining and/or high-volume establishment
Positive attitude, a sense of responsibility and ownership of the position
Passion for creating memorable moments of hospitality for our guests
Desire to learn and grow within the position and restaurant
Willingness to learn and have a passion for food, wine, beer, coffee, and craft cocktails
Detail-oriented with strong communication skills
Team-oriented with the ability to navigate a fast-paced environment while maintaining a respectful, professional, and genuine attitude towards guests and team members
Demonstrate a sense of urgency and a strong work ethic
Present oneself groomed, with good hygiene, an upright posture, and the required uniform and tools
Fluent in both written and spoken English
Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver plates, cases of water, chairs, linen, and dining room tables. (Up to 50 pounds)
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
Must be comfortable with repetitive motions (such as walking, bending & standing)

Healthcare: Comprehensive coverage through United Healthcare.
Employer Contribution: DMI covers up to $229 per month toward any available healthcare plan for eligible employees.
Eligibility: After a 90-day introductory period, staff members averaging 30+ hours per week are eligible for benefits.
